Mom's Night Out

Last night some of the mom's from Mason's class got together to take Mrs. Kohlbusch out for some good food, fun and fellowship at Bonefish...one of my favorite places to eat!!! We wanted to let her know how much we appreciate her teaching our kids (well putting up with them, really). Then it was off to Maggie Moo's for some delicious ice cream.

Look what I found!

I am getting ready to order Baker a couple of these cute t-shirts and thought I would share this website with you. They have a lot more designs and they have all kinds of sizes...they have onesies too! And the best part...they are only $15. How awesome is that?

BOO! Happy Halloween!

This is the first year I have let my kids be what they wanted to be. I'll bet many of you are saying aaawwww come on mom really? Yes! I have always made my kids go with the same kind of theme. The year before last they were THING 1 and THING 2 and last year they all went as characters from Scooby Doo. Well this year I allowed them to express themselves instead of them expressing me and what I want. I guess with their growing independence it was time and I think they did a great job. It is probably no surprise that Mason dressed up as Indiana Jones. And Taylor is a Gargoyle Fairy...whatever that means (that's just what it said on her costume). Of course Baker couldn't really help pick out his costume so I saw these cute carter's pajama's about 2 months ago with skeletons and said that's it. Done! I thought it was a great idea to dress him in his pj's and once we got home we threw him in his bed. After taking some pictures in front of the house and trick or treating at some houses in our neighborhood we headed over to Jen's neighborhood for some more candy and fun! No hills in that neighborhood. Despite the rain, the kids had a blast with their friends but had more fun diving into the candy once we got back home. As for Tony and myself, we got some take out and curled up on the couch and watched TENNESSEE win against SOUTH CAROLINA. GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and don't make fun of my mums not being planted. I finally got around to doing that yesterday.

Taylor and her best friend Grace

Mason and his other buddy Whit..I promise he is under there soemwhere

Once again God's reminder of his beauty even on Halloween night

Jen, Kelly and myself in the pouring rain...we felt a lot wetter than we look

I didn't even bother fixing the kids dinner that night. Why would I waste my time? Doesn't the above picture look like a healthy meal to you? At least they thought so. I can assure you that after ingesting as much candy as they did, the candy induced coma made them sleep like babies. Hope you all had a wonderful night and it was full of wonderful memories.

Brunch in Cookeville

This past Saturday we met my parents in Cookeville to eat brunch before Taylor's soccer tournament...which by the way got rained out..shocker!!! I think more than 50% of her games and practices have been cancelled this soccer season. I was glad because it gave us the opportunity to visit with Dad and Nell longer and to get back to K-town faster for a night of Trick or Treating.

Straight A's

We LOVE when report cards come out at school. If you don't already know, Krispy Kreme gives away doughnuts for making A's on your report card. Both my kids got straight A's and got 1/2 dozen doughnuts each! I made them save at least 2 each and let them eat them the next morning for breakfast. I'm sure their teachers just loved me ha! Way to go Mason and Taylor! Keep up the good work!

And here Taylor is watching the workers making the doughnuts. She was so amazed that later on she told me, "I want to work at Krispy Kreme when I get older." Great! It thought to myself. I don't have to pay for this private education anymore!

Happy 40th Birthday Old Man!

What a wonderful evening of good food at Flemings, fun, and fellowship with some really great friends! It started as a celebration of JD's 40th birthday but we ended up actually celebrating JD's, Shannon's, and Tony's birthdays...all October birthday's.

Pumpkin Patch

Ok well not exactly. I know this isn't exactly the kind of pumpkin patch we have been to in the past but this is all we had time for this year. It was already October 18, and my kids were starting to notice that we were the only family in the neighborhood without pumpkins sitting on the front porch. So we went to this little pumpkin patch (pumpkins only) down the road from where we live. I'm glad we went there because the donations we made for the pumpkins didn't just go into Farmer Bill's pocket this year. The money went to help establish running and drinking water in other countries.

Baker is NOT happy about the pumpkin sharing the wagon with him

My sweet angel looked forever to find this perfect shaped pumpkin

And it didn't take Mason long at all...he ran straight for the biggest pumpkin he could find in the patch

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Ya'll know by now that the huge lapses in time between blog posts is just pure busyness and I get overwhelmed trying to catch up. I have no idea how these other people like Kelly over at Kelly's Korner keeps up with her blog on a daily basis, sometimes twice a day. The lapse in time is also because I like for my blog to stay in chronological order and up to this point I have been successful. That is until today. I messed up. I almost forgot to post my husband's birthday not to mention it's out of order and that bugs me BAD! Anyway, Tony's birthday was actually October 5. We had a sweet celebration with the kids at home before I took Tony out to eat at Naples...a wonderful...most delicious italian restaurant here in K-town!
